Meet your expert

Our Head of Sales travel is a true board rider. Be Aware

If it’s your first time on a ski touring, you should take into account how it differs from regular resort skiing. At a resort, deciding to call it a day and get off the slopes for some indoor comfort is an easy call when your lodge, or the bar, is sitting at the base of the mountain. But when you’re in backcountry, no such comfort is readily available.

Three Reasons for Ski Touring in France

01

Shred untouched, champagne powder in France

An expert guide on a world-class ski touring journey will take you to a treasure chest of incredible French powder. Its fluffy, light and high-quality snow resonates with the texture of the bubbly stuff that’ll later fill your glass. A backcountry trip is an ideal way to reach France’s champagne powder, with hoards of virgin snow found in the Alps many off-piste slopes. France’s range of excellent backcountry destinations consistently deliver on impeccable powder. An on-foot glimpse is one of the best ways to experience it, with not a soul around to spoil your findings, except a few powder-hungry friends.

02

No boundaries and plenty of room to move for your skitour

Touring in French backcountry is pure freedom. For skiers and snowboarders with a distaste for boundaries and rules, nothing compares to slashing virgin snow and pioneering lines down mountain faces. While France hosts some of the world’s most incredible ski resorts (Chamonix, Val Thorens, Tignes, La Plagne), true skiers and riders will find that cross-country skiing through endless French Alp terrain hangs a dominating shadow over any rivaling resort town. Find room to move on a ski touring trip to France. Get in touch with LUEX to book yours today.

03

Breathtaking landscape in the French Alps

Ski touring in French means a visit to the birthplace of alpine skiing, the Alps. Slicing through Europe and sitting on the Mediterranean coast of France, the Alps are a massive mountain range with some of Europe’s tallest, steepest and most majestic mountains. The land is dotted with soaring peaks, wedged between eye-catching valleys and beautiful mountain villages. Not only should the French Alps be a part of the world every nature-lover should visit, but a backcountry dream that every skier or rider should turn into reality. The only thing more stunning than its visual beauty is its unrestricted, rideable terrain.
