What our customers say

"Our family liked it very much. We had good skiing days"

Olen
(Mountain Mavericks)

"...When I first time read about La Grave, it sounded like the perfect place to step up my freeriding without spending a fortune. It turned out to be just the spot. La Grave has many routes that can be reached only by 1 hour of hiking or ski touring. I skied in knee-deep powder on epic routes with over 1500 m vertical drop..."

Anna
(Skiers Lodge La Grave)

"Wow what a trip! I really had a great time with James and the others on the tour. We had jam packed days filled with good hiking and riding. Would highly recommend it and I will be going again in the future for sure... Get out there and give it a go!"

Daniel
(Stentiford Snowboarding Camps - Chamonix)

"I liked everything about this trip. Very professional attitude of the operator."

Why you should try skiing in France

01

France has the best champagne powder

The powder in France is world-class. There is a fluffy and fine quality to French snow that almost resonates with the texture of local champagne. A backcountry trip is an ideal way to reach this magical white stuff, with hoards of virgin snow found in the Alps many off piste slopes. Find them with a heliski trip or a guided freeriding journey. But if you’re short on Euros, you don’t need a helicopter delivering you to powder. France’s huge range of world-class resorts deliver on piste powder like almost nowhere else. Take globally renowned Chamonix, which is pumped by snowfall every year. Meters of fresh snowfall covers groomed slopes, tree runs and verticals every winter, so while you’re sharing the slopes you can find your own deep snow. Nothing compares to France’s champagne powder.

02

European apres ski in France

Apres ski is a way of life in France’s snowfields. Even before the lifts shut down, the mountains’ visitors will be dancing in ski boots at bars and lodges, and revelling with the masses after an epic day on French slopes. Chamonix and Val D'Isere lead the way for vibrant after-ski parties, which can be labelled Ibiza treatment for snow junkies. DJs and bands fill the stage, while dancing and merrying becomes convention. There’s nothing quite like a French apres ski.

03

Choice of mountain

France’s mountain variety is huge. The stretch of mountains in the region Savoie throws up plenty of choices for visitors. If it’s a party scene you’re after, the vibrance of Val D'Isere is undeniable. Beyond just a party culture though, at the heart of the vast Tignes-Val d'Isère ski area Val D'Isere offers high altitude skiing and very challenging terrain. Courvechel is a high-end resort a part of the Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world. Its off-piste can be thrilling and even quite dangerous in parts. The snow, second to none. And Chamonix, arguably the most famous and oldest French Alps resort, has hundreds of miles of backcountry terrain with easy access provided by lift systems or a short hike. Not to mention a unique character that timewarps you back to a Victorian age. The French Alps is all about choice.
