Towards a more sustainable businessONE tree at the time
LUEX is striving towards a more sustainable future, and we are trying to do everything in our power to contribute to a greener, more ecological world. We know that the travel industry could do much better in coming up with more ecological ways to visit all the beautiful places, but CHANGE is happening!
We can't promise 100% perfection at all times, but what we can promise is:
"To offset all of our staff's business-related air travels and all C02 waste produced by our headquarter by planting mangrove trees in Indonesia."
Every tree planted in areas affected by severe deforestation across Indonesia contributes to revitalizing ecosystems and empowering local communities.
We pledge to continue developing ways to reduce our environmental footprint. By choosing LUEX, we invite you - our customers - to help restore a fragile ecosystem that needs our help.

- Who's planting the trees for us?
We use Eden Reforestation Projects as our dedicated planting partner. Their empowering initiatives provide local workers with vital employment while restoring the beauty of our world.
- 1.
Simple. Trees create the air we breathe. Yes, without trees in our forests or plankton in our waters, our air lacks the oxygenation we need to survive.
- 2.
Trees clean our air. The canopies of trees act as a physical filter, trapping dust and absorbing pollutants from the air.
- 3.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow, and the carbon they store in the wood helps to slow down the rate of global warming.
- 4.
Trees reduce wind speeds and cool the air as they lose moisture and reflect heat upwards from their leaves.
- 5.
Trees boost wildlife. When young, they offer habitation and food to amazing communities of birds, insects, lichen, and fungi. When ancient, their trunks also provide shelter for bats, woodboring beetles, tawny owls, and more.
- Why Indonesia?
LUEX has had a long affinity with the Indonesian archipelago. It is where everything has started for us, and it's only fair to give back to a country that has given us so much.
Indonesia has incredibly diverse ecosystems spread across its 17,000 islands. Indonesia provides a home for several thousand mammals, birds, and 25% of the world's fish population. However, Indonesia has lost over 40% of its mangrove forests due to deforestation and natural disasters, a habitat millions of rural Indonesians rely on for their livelihood and survival.
Eden Reforestation Projects plans to replenish these forest habitats while providing work for thousands of villagers, making sure they can earn a living and support their families.

Work with us towards a better, greener future for our planet by letting us know how we do. We plant ten trees for each review on one of our official channels.
We collected the most eco-friendly surf locations. Some of them produce their own energy and drinking water, while others regularly invest in the environment or do beach clean-ups.
You can find them here and find out what exactly they are doing. On our eco page, we only recommend operators with the highest environmental standards.
We are planning to give you the possibility to offset your footprint for every trip you are booking with us. You will be able to pay an "eco fee" to invest in more trees. Until this new feature is ready, we can recommend https://carbonfund.org/ to offset your footprint by yourself.
